Caring for Your Jewellery
Proper care will help preserve the beauty and longevity of your jewellery.
General Advice
We recommend removing jewellery before:
- Swimming
- Showering
- Exercising
- Sleeping
- Cleaning
- Applying perfumes, lotions or cosmetics
Sterling Silver
Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time.
To maintain its appearance:
- Store in a dry environment
- Keep in an airtight pouch when not worn
- Polish regularly using a silver polishing cloth
Gold
Gold does not tarnish as much as silver but when it does use a gold cleaning cloth. As with most metals we recommend soaking the metal in soapy water (use washing up liquid) for several minutes and then rub the jewellery between your hands.
Gemstones
Different gemstones have different care requirements.
Avoid:
- Strong chemicals
- Extreme temperatures
- Hard impacts
Storage
Store jewellery separately in its original box or a soft jewellery pouch to minimise scratches and tangling.
